Fernando Marante


Fernando Marante (1973, Matosinhos, Portugal)

Fernando Marante is a visual artist living in Lisbon whose work deals with the idea of transformation and the ability of images to generate other images and declinations, creating a closed network of self-referential pictures. He made his first solo exhibition at Pickpocket Gallery, in Lisbon, and has been producing artist books (Objecto Objecto Objecto, 2016; The Emperor’s Dialogue, 2017), that were shown in London, Lisbon and Oporto. Has a background in Communication Sciences and has concluded the Advanced Course in Photography, at Ar.Co Lisbon, where he won the Leonor and António Parreira Scholarship.
