Ignasi Aballí (Barcelona, 1958)

Ignasi Aballí studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, city in which he lives and works.
Since 1990 has made solo exhibitions in galleries and national and international public institutions. The most important among them are the realizad at the Museo de Arte de la Universidad de Colombia (Bogotá, 2017), Joan Miró Foundation (Barcelona, 2016), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Madrid, 2002, 2015), Museu d’Art Contemporàni de Barcelona (Macba, Barcelona 2005), Fundaçao Serralves (Porto, Portugal, 2006), IKON Gallery (Birmingham, United Kingdom, 2006), ZKM (Karlsruhe, Germany, 2006), Today Art Museum (Beijing, China, 2009), Estrany-de la Mota Gallery (Barcelona, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2011, 2014), Elba Benítez Gallery (Madrid, 1991, 1994, 1999, 2004 , 2009, 2013), Meessen-de Clercq Gallery (Brussels, Belgium, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2018), Pedro Oliveira Gallery (Porto, Portugal, 1997, 2003, 2008, 2014), Nordenhake Gallery (Berlin, Germany, 2015, 2016), Proyecto Paralelo Gallery (Mexico City, Mexico, 2012, 2017), Thomas Bernard Gallery (Paris, France, 2015, 2018).
He has participated in various Biennials, such as the 13 Bienal de Cuenca (Ecuador, 2016), 4th Guangzhou Triennial (China, 2012), 52nd Venice Biennale (Italy, 2007), Sharjah Biennial 8 (United Arab Emirates, 2007) and XI Sidney Biennial, (Australia, 1998). The year 2007 won the Graphic Art National Award, and in 2015 the V Joan Miró Prize.
