Jörg Sasse (1962, Bad Salzuflen, Germany)
Professor of Documentary Photography (2004-2007) at the University of Duisburg-Essen, studied in the 1980s at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, ending his term under Bernd Becher. He became known through photographs of arranged objects and details of interiors which draw attention to the formal qualities of everyday objects and environments. Since the early 1990s, Sasse handles photographs on the computer and alongside his own photographs uses, above all, amateur photographic images. Since 1998 he also makes his images available on the Internet (www.c42.de), including different categories. In 2008 Sasse presented his first “Speicher”, a completely analogue database. Since 2014 he is also working with a growing database of high resolution scanned textiles of everyday life.
